RACE RESULTS Congratulations Kade Crawford on a great drive in the Townsville 400 event over the weekend. Qualifying began first thing on Saturday morning, the car was handling well until a couple of laps in when the steering column fell into Kades lap at 140klm/hr which meant an unplanned trip into pit lane. Repairs were completed but with no time left to put in a good qualifying run he was at the back of the field for race 1. Race 2 saw some position shuffling and a close touch with some tyre barriers at one point wiping out the side mirror and some minor damage to the passengers side. The crew managed to tidy up some of the damage and replace the mirror all ready to start race 3 on Sunday. The rain held out just long enough on Sunday for the 86's to finish in dry conditions. Kade finished in 25th position out of 33 cars overall for the weekend. The team at RJ panel & paint will be pleased to see that there is minimal damage this time to the vehicle. Next stop is Bathurst in October.
Racing update A field of 33 cars lined up today as practice commenced at the Watpac Townsville 400. Intermittent drizzle meant the morning and lunch practice sessions were on a wet track. Despite the weather, Kade reported the car felt good other than a fuel supply issue at certain areas of the track. The team spent the afternoon replacing one of the fuel pumps. The car is now ready to go for tomorrow's qualifying bright and early. THE RACE IS ON!!! Only 19 days to go till the 2nd Round of the Australian Toyota 86 racing series in Townsville and so much to do. Our Toyota 86 entry is back at the workshop after a mammoth effort by the team at RJ panel & paint. The car suffered major panel damage at the Phillip Island event and was pretty much a write off but the guys at RJ panel & paint got it back into shape and now sporting a bright Ducati Blue. Its all hands on deck to have it ready in time. Thanks to Andrew's Mobile Windscreens for their speedy re installation of the rear windows. The car heads off to Queensland Signage Solutions for some signwriting later this week to finalise its physical transformation. Then we will give it the final race preparation including full wheel alignment and suspension set up for the Townsville Track and a run on the dyno to make sure it's running to spec. All done here in house. If you have a vehicle that you thought wasnt repairable, see the skilled guys at RJ panel & paint, they've definitely pulled out all the stops on this one. Kadco Offroad proudly supports DriveIt North Queensland. DriveIt has done an amazing job designing, planning and securing funding for a major motorsport facility for Townsville.

The first round of the Toyota 86 racing series took place last weekend at Phillip Island with a field of 40 cars. Qualifying saw a wet track and slippery conditions but even though he didn't qualify in a great position Kade did a really good job and managed to make his way through the field in race 1. Unfortunately he went into a corner a bit too hot and was involved in a collision causing some major damage. With replacement parts on hand from Neal Bates Motorsport, we were able to replace the damaged suspension components, and along with a massive panel beating effort from the crew of car 61 Harley Phelan Racing (special thanks to Larry, George & "Cowboy"), the car was able to race again on Sunday. Despite the car not handling quite the same as it did, Kade managed to nurse it round the track for race 2 and 3 and gain some valuable additional seat time. Now for a big job ahead straightening the car and getting it back to spec. ready for the Townsville race in July.
